On 7 and 8 November 2023, the VALORADA project brought together its main stakeholders from the Occitanie region for a collaborative workshop at La Cité. Following an introduction by Thierry Cotelle, Regional Councillor and President of NEREUS, participants from the Occitanie Region, Montpellier Métropole, Toulouse Métropole and Sicoval discussed two significant risks associated with the region: the risk of urban heat islands and the risk of water stress in the agricultural sector.

In a dynamic workshop addressing the intersection of climate change, water stress in agriculture, and thermal comfort in urban areas, participants in Toulouse engaged in fruitful discussions and activities.
With a focus on multi-thematic approaches, the workshop aimed to bring together diverse actors from Occitanie, identifying key climate issues affecting the region. Participants actively worked towards defining indicators crucial for understanding and mitigating climate risks, emphasizing the value of datasets in this critical process.

The workshop’s success lays in its collaborative spirit, empowering stakeholders to manage data effectively for informed climate adaptation decisions.

The next workshop will be held in Central Greece on November 23rd and 24th.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our commitment to addressing climate change and creating a sustainable future.
