In October 2023 we launched our first series of contextualisation workshops with each of our demonstrators, which aimed at identifying specific climate risks and selected key indicators to explore possibilities to adapt to climate change and build more resilience.
After one year of intensive work, we are very happy to be able to meet again with our demonstrators for our implementation workshop. The aim of this second wave of workshops is to give demonstrators the opportunity to see the various tools currently being developed by the project team and to examine those that could be used at local and regional levels. These workshops are an opportunity to show what concrete things have been developed, based on what we agreed together with the demonstrators during last year’s workshops.
VALORADA’s series of implementation workshops began on October 25th, 2024 in the region of Molise, Italy. Organized by CMCC Foundation, the workshop took place in the city of Campobasso.
Participants had the opportunity to hold in-depth discussions to select key climate risk indicators for the region, focusing on the co-design of a catalog of regional indicators for climate adaptation in the agricultural sector. A demonstration presentation of the catalog and online platform for the Molise region was conducted, highlighting the potential use of the Pixagri territories tool and exploring possible synergies with other ongoing initiatives funded by the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience. The next steps for developing and enhancing the catalog and platform also took place.
The 12 participants were mainly representatives from thendifferent regional departments (environment and rural development, civil protection, agriculture and forestry management).
Each demonstrator will have the opportunity to host its own workshop, bringing the total number of workshops in this new series to 5. As a result, a further 4 workshops will be held at our 4 other demonstrators over the coming weeks. The next workshop will be was held on October 29th in the Central Greece region.
