We are excited to share the third edition of the VALORADA newsletter, marking a significant milestone in our journey. With 18 months behind us, VALORADA has reached its halfway point, providing the perfect moment to reflect on our progress and set the stage for future achievements.

Since the project’s launch in June 2023, VALORADA has been dedicated to empowering European regions and cities to achieve sustainable and climate-resilient development. This edition of our newsletter highlights the strides we have made and offers a glimpse into the exciting activities to come.

Key achievements include the successful delivery of the first series of Capacity Building Programme workshops, which brought together over 70 participants from across Europe to enhance their understanding of climate risk data and tools for adaptation. These workshops also emphasized the importance of Copernicus data in evidence-based policymaking.

Our implementation workshops, completed between October and November 2024, were another significant milestone. Held in our five demonstration regions, these workshops explored the practical application of tools under development by VALORADA and refined key indicators to guide local adaptation strategies.

Additionally, VALORADA was proudly represented at the 3rd European Regional Symposium by NEREUS. This event underscored the importance of projects like ours in supporting regional authorities and advancing climate resilience, particularly in sectors such as agriculture.

Looking ahead, we are preparing for the next series of Capacity Building Programme workshops, which will focus on governance, policies, and plans, aiming to foster best practices in climate adaptation across Europe.

We held our third Annual General Meeting, bringing together project stakeholders to provide a detailed report on the progress made over the past six months. During the meeting, we presented key achievements, challenges faced, and lessons learned, offering participants a comprehensive overview of the milestones reached since the project’s inception, 18 months ago. This gathering served as a pivotal moment to reflect on our collective efforts and to ensure alignment as we move forward with the next stages of the project.

Stay informed about VALORADA’s progress, upcoming activities, and opportunities for engagement by exploring our newsletter and website. Together, we continue to work toward achieving the ambitious goals of the EU’s Adaptation Mission.
